Visual Anthropology competiton 2024: Winners announced!
The ANSA Executive Committee is pleased to announce the winners of the 2024 Visual Anthropology Competition.
First place: Sebastian Antoine Salay — Yumi fasem taet (We hold on tight)
Runner-Up: Ngaire Dowse - Gaslight
Runner-Up: Diana Tung - Cycling in Amazon
Thank you to all the entrants for submitting your work. The submissions were displayed during the AAS Conference, and will be showcased on our website.
We would also like to thank our judges, Nikki Manolakis, Dr Paola Tine, and Cindy Stocken for their time and support in facilitating this competition. This visual anthropology competition started out 11 years ago in 2013 as a photographic competition. Over the years, the competition has evolved into a celebration of all kinds of creative anthropology. We want to thank the Australian Anthropological Society (AAS) for their continued support in funding this competition.
